Vision; To be a sparkling display of snowboarding sports and culture

-The international snowboard community has agreed upon assigning World Championships 2012 to Oslo . This is a great vote of confidence to the Norwegian snowboard community, to Oslo as a host city and to the work we have put into this project, says the president of the Norwegian Snowboard  Association, Cecilia Flatum, and continues:

-Since 1999 there has been a broad discussion around creating the first World Championships and the first slopestyle championship ever, this will be a great addition to snowboarding internationally.

Norway has acquired a great deal of experience in arranging such events after ten years of hosting The Arctic Challenge (TAC). In 2009 TAC presented a revolutionary TV-concept with the help of NRK.
The presentation of the sport has become thrilling on TV, something that again has interested the right international companies.

The Norwegian community has benefitted from this progress.
- With World Championships on our home field are we not only rewarded for our hard work, but the entire world of snowboarding receives a common symbol to link us together. This is when the fun starts, declares Henning Andersen, the general manager of TAC.

The events will be held at Oslo Vinterpark, Tryvann. Norway
